Elephant Creative associates Francesca and Anna, bid experts, hosted a Bid Leaders’ Roundtable in London last month.
The event was hosted by Savills, in conjunction with Francesca and Anna who also run Get Serious Bids.
The aim of the event was to get together leading bid professionals, in a non-competitive environment, to share best practice and insights. More and more firms are realising how important it is the have a strong bids team, or bidding and tendering consultants.
The marketplace has never been so competitive. But what do those bid professionals feel about the practice and how it is viewed within the firms?
The key messages coming out of the roundtable event were:·
- The bid team within a firm needs to be recognised as strategic bid advisors rather than document producers.
- It is the job of the Bid Director and Bid Managers to nurture and equip junior team members with the necessary skillsets.
- Graduate programmes and secondments mean you are educating the senior executives of tomorrow.
- The bid team needs to be able to demonstrate relevancy to the organisation at every point.
