At Elephant Creative we’ve always been interested in supporting the local arts and we are proud sponsors of the Cirencester International Organ Festival, taking place in April 2013.
It’s not a new thing for us, though… Founded in 2010, the festival has become a bi-annual event to celebrate the restoration of the church organ and to showcase beautiful organ music in an equally spectacular setting. And we were there, helping to organise (geddit?) the very first one, when the restored organ was opened in 2010.
2013 is a really special year for the festival, though. It’s the first time that the Cirencester Organ Festival will have international status, giving it the opportunity to invite some of the world’s leading virtuoso organists into its programme, and positioning it along-side many impressive musical festival ‘institutions’. We’re very proud!
We’ve been helping the festival launch their website, keeping it updated and sharing their news over social media… as well as working with the local press, musical associations, business groups and the local council to promote the event.
The festival runs between 20th and 27th April, inviting organists from across the country and further afield to perform recitals in the Cirencester Parish Church. Performers next year include Olivier Latry, Nigel Ogden and Anthony Hammond and within the lunchtime recitals; Carleton Etherington, Anthony Pinel, Laurence Lyndon-Jones, Paul Walton and Ian Ball.
